Had the monthly dinner last night and I invited my neighbours to join me. I think they had a good time, I know I did. We had a good turnout about 2 dozen of us not including the wee ones. I got hold Andrew (4 weeks) and Samantha (7.5 months) and Kayla (5 months?). It was really nice to go out and have a nice meal. Hb had the other hb's over and they played PS2 and ate Starr Burger.

This week has become a hectic week. The only day we had free was Monday. We have plans every night until next Weds or Mon depending on whether we go to the drink night being held at my work.

I'm actually a bit nervous now about my upcoming exam. It's in less than two weeks and I haven't gotten through the material yet. I may take an extra day off to spend the day studying. I'm actually foregoing Sun plans so that I can spend the day studying. I suck at multiple choice and that is what the exam is. Ugh.

So it's been just over a week since I last yapped. Not too much has happened...well maybe a few things have happened.

Tues...my neighbours were over for dinner and TAR. We also played Settlers and A won for the first time. Yay!

Weds...went to Home Sense and bought a beautiful patio table. I don't have a photo of it right now but it's made of Kwila wood and has a 5' diameter. It's gorgeous and Hb and I love it. Thanks to our neighbour H we were able to bring it home that night.

Thurs...stayed home. Mil was sick (still is) so we decided to postpone our visit til next time and let her rest. She's got a wicked cold and I hope it goes away soon. Also watched Survivor and just chilled.

Fri...I can't remember Fri at the moment. If it comes to me then I'll let you know.

Sat...Went around Markham looking for matching chairs for the table. Found some but they were too pricey. We looked and looked and looked. That night we went out to My Apartment to celebrate a birthday. We had a great time and hope that the birthday girl did too. We invited our neighbours along with us. It was a late night and I was pooped by the end of it. We also had dinner with the neighbours before heading down.

Sun...Did nothing but chill. We needed to relax and so we did. We did move our bird feeder further into the yard so the birdies will have better access to the yummy treats.

Mon...Went to Ikea and bought some chairs. They were more reasonably priced and they also recline. Multi-functional and pretty. Yay!

Today...So far a bit of work has been done. I'm currently trying to fight my tendonitis. It's been bothering me since Thurs but it's actually pretty bad today. I may consider going home today because of it.

Thurs went out to dinner with a bunch of co-workers and my ex-gm. It was good to see him and catch up with him.

Went to the National Home Show on Friday. I had a great time. We walked around for quite a long time and my feet were sore at the end of the night. Hb and I came close to buying a hot tub. It was such a great deal and we really would've enjoyed it quite a lot but the timing just wasn't right. I knew that if I didn't walk away far enough from the sales guy then I would've said let's buy it. So I walked away. I knew Hb would be more levelheaded and he would make the right decision. He did. We didn't come home with a hot tub. We did come home with a lot of ideas and literature and of course sore feet. I also saw an awesome resin wicker patio furniture. I really really like it a lot and if we had the money I would've bought that before we got the hot tub. However right now we have a resin set that just needs some painting and it'll be as good as new.

My bf was over on Fri night after the Home Show and stayed all Sat. We had a great time hanging out and doing some shopping. I picked up a new set of sheets at a really amazing price. Yay! Now I don't need to pick anymore up. I wanted a back-up set and I got one at a great price. 230 thread count queen size full sheet set (with deep pockets) for $30.

My neighbours had a friend over (that we're trying to set up with my bf) and we got to see him. Bf thought that we has cute from afar so we're going to have to step up our efforts and have them actually meet. D (my neighbour) and his bf were throwing the pigskin around. (I hope I have that corret). Made lasagna for dinner that night. It was too cheesy for Hb especially since I didn't use the low-fat/skim milk cheese like I normally do.

Just after lunch on Sat we had our appointment with a local landscaping company. We spoke with the owner (?) and we gave us a lot of great advice, ideas and guidance. Exactly what we needed.

Sunday we met the newest member of our extended family. Asha is Hb's cousin Carey's first child and daughter. She is really really tiny with really long fingers. It was so nice to have a visit with them.

After our visit with them we went to the local nursery and spoke to them about our lawn/sod. We got some advice and picked up what we needed at HD. I felt bad for not supporting our local nursery but I wanted to make sure we got a good deal. Ultimately it was a good thing we bought from HD because we ran out of fertilizer and the nursery was just closing as we left so we would've had a mismatch in fertilizer.

We even got to visit with our neighbours across the backyard. We help set up their outdoor chairs and we sat and talked for a bit. I think we interrupted their dinner. They were really nice and gave us a tonne of fruit. We had some of the strawberries last night and they were so delicious, especially with a touch of sugar.

We also caught up on Survivor and I'm kinda sad that Coby was booted. I thought we was a great shit disturber on the show. We made me laugh. His attitude was entertaining.

So another week has gone by. I wore the purple dress on Saturday and the wedding went well. I had a good time and the church was incredible. Wonderful detail and architecture. The English Tea was cool. The weather co-operated so we were able to enjoy the sunshine. Yay. I got to see a few people that we haven't seen in ages that I went to high school with. We sort of got caught up. I got to have a chat with the groom and his son. It was nice. They were suppose to come over for dinner tonight but she flaked and now they are coming over after dinner and we'll have a shorter visit with them instead.

After the wedding went to have a quick bite to eat and went to see a couple shows at the Omnimax theatre at the science centre. That was a nice way to end the day.

Also had a home inspector in. He did a great job, very thorough. He gave us good news and told us that the house was well built. He only pointed out a few things that we should mention at our one year. He said that our one year list will be quite small so that's pretty awesome. I can't believe in just over two weeks we will have been at our home for a year. A whole year. Wow.

Hopefully we'll be able to start painting soon. I'm looking forward to putting colour on the walls but I'm also use to the builder's white/beige and the crazy colour patches that we have on our walls too. The more I see the colour the happier I am with it, except one. I'm not sure if the upstairs hall is the colour for that area though it goes really well with the lower hall colour. I think I'll have to mull it over some more.

I'm not sure what else I can say about the past week. It's been more or less, eat sleep work. The nice thing is that we are really enjoying the sun. I think I'm going to try and work on our patio furniture this weekend and get it ready for use. I would like to get a nice non-rusting set but our budget doesn't allow for that right now. Besides I think I'd like to get paint on our walls and and a/c unit and some fencing in this year first.

I have been pretty okay. I wake up tired and go to bed tired. I wonder if I'm sleeping too much or not enough. Other than that I think I'm okay. I had fun at our neighbours yesterday. DnA made a wonderful dinner and then we played Settlers. It was such a ridiculously slow game that in the end we cheated (sort of) and she won. Her first win. Once TAR finishes I hope we continue to get together and play boardgames. I'm glad that we have become such good friends.

So it's been just over a week since I've last blogged. Seems a little odd that I haven't been posting as often as I have. Lately I haven't been feeling all that talkative despite what my Hb thinks ;)

This morning I came into work and settled in. My co-worker, P, walks by and says to me "Have you heard?" I reply "Heard what?" She proceeds to tell me that another co-worker, B, her husband passed away yesterday while playing tennis. It was a very sobering to hear that first thing in the morning. B and her husband are very healthy active people. B's Hb retired early, became a vegetarian years back and played tennis several nights a week. B herself runs everyday and always puts our unhealthy lunches to shame. It angered P to see something so tragic happen to such a wonderful person, wonderful couple. They were highschool sweethearts what love each other to the end of the universe. I couldn't imagine what she is going through at the moment. I just wish her strength and perseverence at this time. To her and her family.

On a similar note things have been really crazy with our extended family. Between births and health issues it's just been a whirlwind. I forget how much can happen when you don't ask. We would've been blind to it all if it wasn't for a very special person. Hb's Mom really does keep the family together.

On a different note I went to a couple of seminars about gardening on the weekend at the local nursery. I had a great time and it was very informative. I had a girls night while Hb was away and we watched a typical teeny-bopper comedy. I had fun.
