Mon was okay. Don't remember much of it other than I taped the guest room all by myself (except for the ceiling, I couldn't reach even with the help of the little step stool). Yesterday was good. Brought Mochi into work after work. Everyone who was here fawned over him. Poor guy was pooped by the end of his 20 min visit. He had spent the day at the il's and mil gave him a bath and brushing too. Winston learned how to 'shake a paw' That's so awesome.

Today it's raining outside. I didn't want to get up. I just wanted to stay in bed. Looking forward to that on Sat. Only 3 more sleeps.

And my dorky friend Kef got stuck with some car trouble last week and he was a big dork because he didn't call despite being partially stranded on a major highway in the middle of the night.

Friday...just trying to remember Friday. I think we went to my il's and had dinner there and hung out with them for a bit but that's all that I remember. Sat was spent painting (well Hb did most of it) and we finished up our room. Spent the rest of the time just chillin' and admiring the job he/we did. Sun was good too. Lounged around a bit and spent time with Mochi. The il's came up and we showed them our handiwork. Also picked up a portable pen for Mochi and got rid of the ghetto cardboard in the dinette. Much better now.

Also had to say how proud I am of Mochi. He's an amazing dog. He learned 'lie down / down' over the weekend. We're working on rollover at the moment.

Anyway that's it for now. We're going to start prepping/painting the guest room tonight. We'll be back in our room with the bed floating in the middle of the room. An Austin Powers sort of moment.

Saw the Blue Man Group last night. What an incredible show. We had so much fun. The music, the lights, the stage, everything was Wow. At the end of the night we bought the painting that they had created during the show. We thought it would make a wonderful souvenir. Hb and I have already said that we will have to go and see them again, probably at a different location (ie city). Can’t wait.

Big thanks to Hb’s uncle and aunt for the tickets.

Kef…this is just for you. You have to go see them. Get as close to the front as possible because you just don’t want to miss a thing.

Ya I know I didn’t give my usual Mon update. I forgot.

So the weekend was swell. Went to a wedding in the evening, just me no Hb. He wasn’t invited and I found that odd. Anyway, the first part of the day was good. Hb and I ran some errands and decided to get a start on painting. So we’re taking the leap and adding colour to our walls specifically our bedroom wall. We bought good painters tape and primer and ordered the colour we wanted (they didn’t have it in stock). I’m really excited and I hope we’ll get it all primed tonight.

Oh! The colour we chose is Brinjal by Farrow & Ball.

Okay so everything above this sentence was written yesterday. I didn't get a chance to post it and it just sat in my blog unloved by the outside.

Last night was good. Came home had dinner with DnA. D went to football (soccer) and A hung out with us. Went to Kef's fave place and then to DQ. Came home, Hb primed while we watched Cdn Idol. A headed home afterwards and I cleaned up the kitchen. Went upstairs and continued to watch Hb prime while puppy played downstairs. The colour the primer is is nice. The paint guy made a gray primer for us. It's a nice gray. It did dry too quickly though according to Hb. Unfortunately there wasn't enough paint. Just shy by this much. Oh well have to get more then.

So tonight we're off to see Blue Man Group at the Panasonic Theatre. Mochi's at the il's for the day and is going to be pooped by the end of the day. I hope my day here goes by quick. I'd like to start painting tomorrow or Fri and get our room down by the end of the week.

Let’s see the last two days have gone by rather quickly. Mochi went for his second and third walk the last two nights and has done well. We got our mailbox key and today will be the last day that we will have to use a green box. Yay. So anyway the rest of Weds was good. Hb napped while I played with the puppy (I was half asleep myself). Dinner was quick and easy but not so easy for Hb. He’s been fighting a canker sore for just over a week now. It’s made eating very difficult for him. The rest of Weds went by and then here came Thurs. Yesterday after work was cool. Came home after picking up dessert and Hb sent me up to bed while he tended to Mochi. I had a nice long nap before we headed over to DnA’s for dinner. Dinner was great and Hb tried to eat as much as he could. He had gone to the dentist earlier and the doctor wrote him out a couple of prescriptions to help with the pain and healing. Dinner was fab and so was dessert. After that the boys played PS2 while us girls took Mochi for a walk. Came home and he just hung out and played air hockey on the PS2 while browsing through the latest VS catalogue that I had received. The night ended and it was time for bed.

I had a very difficult time sleeping last night. I may have slept a total of 3 hours.

Hb had decided he wasn’t going to work today so I had to drive in on my own. The traffic sucked. A humungo accident on the 401 so I ended up going around and about trying to get to work. Despite my crazy route I got to work only a half hour late. So this is where we are at... I can’t decide if I’m going to stay the whole day or head home early.

The end of Mon was cool. DQ and K? came over to stake out the fence line for quite a few of our neighbours. The T's fed us dinner and we fed the surveyor's dinner. It was just nice to hang around and chill.

Yesterday was good too. Went and got vampired then had a nice afternoon of bubble tea and work. After work went to Mommy's and Hb became a plumber and fixed the sink. Headed over to the il's and had a nice visit and dinner with them. Mochi went for his first walk and it started off slow but by the end of it it was all good.

Went home, mowed lawn, started raking, then bedtime.

I'm exhausted today and I'm pretty sure Hb is too.

I forgot to say earlier...it was nice to see my family.

Friday was a-okay. Glad the work day was over. Spent the afternoon running around and then had a very late dinner with my family. It was a late night.

Sat was my cousin's wedding. I spent the morning in a state of nervousness. My stomach was queasy and my nerves were shot. The background behind this whole thing is that I haven't seen this side of the family in 6.5 years. Yes, 6.5 years. Anyway shit hit the fan and it's taken this long for me to be at a state where I was ready to seen them. All my relatives were shocked to see that I was invited. My aunt (the mother of the groom) was thrilled to see that I had arrived and promptly seated me right up front. Anyway to make a long story short, the ceremony was wonderful. My cousin's wife is gorgeous.

The reception was held at a Chinese restaurant. The food was yummy. My cousin seated us with other cousins. It was nice to be able to yap it up with people I was more comfortable with. I got to meet/see my cousin's kid for the first time. He's 2.5 and really adorable. I wish I had brought a little something for him. There's always next time. Dinner went well and the night ended up dancing. We left shortly after the dancing had started (about a half dozen songs in) and headed home. It had been a long day.

Yesterday was good. Spent the morning running around a bit. Had friends over for a lunch time bbq. It was good. It was relaxing and a nice way to wind down the weekend.

Weekends are too short.

So here’s the scoop on the fence thing…We came to an agreement that I think everyone is happy with. All the neighbours are willing to participate in the surveying and it’ll be done this coming Monday. The links will get their fence. The posts are to be put in at the beginning of Sep and they should have their fence boards up by the end of Sep at the very latest.

Either way it’s done and for the most part without any hostility…well the links wife has issues. During our meeting we found out that the hermits are only willing to pay what is required by the by-law, that is the cost of a professionally installed 4’ chain link fence. She’s really upset by that saying it’s not very neighbourly (hello pot calling the kettle black). No one knows what their situation is. So what if they are only wanting to go by the by-law, I certainly wasn't surprised. There will always be at least one person who is going to do that. Why do you think there is a by-law in the first place? She also complained that if they couldn't afford to do what a new house brings then they shouldn't have bought such a large home. What a snot.

She was also quite unhappy because apparently she’s of the mind that since she is female no one was willing to listen to her about the fence. Whatever. As far as I am concerned she did not approach this situation properly in the first place. She even admitted that she’s a bitch and has acted as such because that’s the only people will listen to her. Sorry but no one listened because you acted that way, we’re not in high school.

Anyway the boys had gone to talk of ways to deal with swales and such and the two of us stayed back (I stayed because I couldn’t be bothered to stand up and join in their conversation). She plopped her butt down beside me and began to natter. She bitched and bitched and I told her that if you act like a bitch no one would listen. Low and behold no one did and just dug their heels into the sod.

Thankfully she relinquished the fence thing to her Hb and with the help of my Hb everything worked out and was sorted out.

After the fence thing I got to catch up Cdn Idol. This is the first season where I actually had more interest in watching the entire season instead of just watching the auditions. I admit I have a few favourites and I can’t get over how a couple of them have gone that far. There is only two left that I want to get the big ol’ boot. I guess I’ll have to stayed tuned til nect time.

Wednesday, August 10, 2005

Okay so the last couple of days have gone by in a blur. The rest of Mon was spent talking with the neighbours about fencing and the bbq. Part of it was fun and part of it was frustrating and part of it was informative.

We’re having a meeting tonight about the fencing.

Anyway DQ (a buddy and co-worker of Hb’s) a certified OLS came over to survey a couple lot lines for us. Our links had made an appointment for this Fri to have posts put in so we had to get it done right away. Needless to say we really appreciated DQ coming over on such short notice. At the end of it all (with Hb’s help) the lines are marked and ready to go.

Yesterday was pretty cool. Kef came over and we all hung out. Hb and I mowed the lawn. I did a majority of the back half and Hb did the front half and up to the end of the patio. Our lawn now does not look like a jungle and you can find Mochi in the grass. Prior to mowing the lawn we had to go it a new air filter as the last got flooded with gunk when we changed the blade. It was a new filter too. Thankfully they aren’t overly expensive and easily available.

As of last night the posts will not be put in this Fri. The links freaked out and cancelled the appointment. They sensed the frustration from a majority of the surrounding neighbours and are at their wits end. So Hb spoke with them and suggested that a meeting between neighbours be called so everyone can talk rather than just hearing the links give absolutes. I wonder how it will go.

I hope we come to a resolution and we can proceed with the fence thing. The only hurdle at the moment is that one of the neighbours is out of town. The links are really eager (almost super aggressive) about putting a fence up. That’s when the neighbours got all miffed and had their backs up.

I hope it goes well tonight. We come to a decision and it’s all good again.

Monday, August 08, 2005

So I had a short week again last week. I was exhausted on Fri and ended up not going in. My inability to get any rest took it's toll and I tried to take it easy for the day. An out of town friend and her hubby came over for dinner and we had a nice quiet relaxing evening. It was great being able to catch up with her.

Sat was pretty quiet too. I spent a good part of the day reading (my friend was a sweetie and brought me so light fluffy reading). I also helped Hb move our garage hose bib from the back to the front. He did a really great job. Our neighbours also stopped by and saw Mochi. They invited us over to their place for a bbq. We had a great time and turned in early.

Sun was a little more hectic but we started the day off right. Hb and I had a nice slow morning. We drove around til we found a greasy spoon. Had a nice cheap filling breakfast before getting into the day. We picked up a small gift for our neighbour's son. They held a big bbq party for him. We had fun there yapping away to their friends and family. Afterwards we spoke with the neighbours about the fencing. We didn't get to finish talking because we were already running late. Us kids were taking my mom out for dinner for her birthday. We also had a few things to take care of at her place. My mom was thrilled that these things were being done. I guess it doesn't hurt to have a working lawn mower.

Thursday, August 04, 2005

It’s Thursday. One more day and the week is over again. The rest of Tues went by in a blur. Mochi had a visit with his brother and he’s there again today. Weds also went by rather quietly, sort of. As it so happens after work Hb and I ran a few errands before heading home. We’re off to a potluck today being held at a former teacher’s party room in his townhouse condo complex. I’m really looking forward to seeing some old familiar faces. Once we got home Hb tried to get the water thing down for the garage only to be impeded by a broken/leaking hose so that didn’t get done. He did help out our neighbour JT with the rest of his patio and they managed to get it done, or almost all of it done. Not quite sure. Meanwhile I spent the evening tending to Mochi and cooking for the potluck. I made fudge and a pasta salad. I was nervous about making the fudge because I had never made it on our range yet. It turned out well. It’s just hard and soft enough. I also experimented with a new flavour except that I wasn’t sure how much of this new flavour that I had to put it. The consistency and texture turned out. I hope you can taste this new flavour, irish crème. I guess we’ll find out this afternoon/evening. The pasta salad is also a first too. I had a small taste of a couple noodles and so far so good. I just have to finish it us when we get to the party. Today has gone by so far. I am looking forward to the end of the work day. I didn’t sleep well last night and I’m paying for it right now. Even my cup of coffee hasn’t helped much, if at all. One more day and the weekend will be here.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

I’ll try to keep this entry short and sweet…

Fri was the annual summer fun day at work. We went on a boat cruise around Lake O on the Pioneer Princess. I had a great time. We ate, drank, gambled, laughed, etc. It was nice to sleep in too. Came home at the end of the day and Hb and L and I headed out for dinner. L came over to hang out with Hb during the day while he worked on our garage.

Sat continued with the garage. Big S came over and we all hung out and ate some really yummy beef ribs that Hb made. We also had a lovely apricot almond flan a la Costco. I also had poutine form Costco for lunch. Yum. Went shopping there with my neighbour N. It was a good day and it ended even better. Hb and I looked at the stars while laying in the hammock while Big S stretched out in our patio chairs and enjoyed the fresh air. We were cuddled up in a comforter and Big S snuggled in a fleece blanket. It was nice just being able to hang around like that.

Sun came and we had eggs benedict for break-y. Big S made his home fries/potatoes. Break-y was yummy! The rest of Sun went by well. Hb gave JT a hand on his patio while I chilled at home.

Mon was more or less the same as Sun except no eggs benedict for break-y. We did have a lovely dinner of debrinzer sausages.

Now we are into Tues. So far it’s been a Tues.
