The rest of Thu went okay I think. I really can’t remember at the moment. Fri is a little more fresh in my mind. I had a heck of a Fri just because of one former client. Gah. Unfortunately it continues into today but at this point today has not even started in some ways. Anyway after work on Fri Hb and I worked on the caps for the fence in preparation for the finishing of the fence on Sat.
So Sat rolls around and after a good breakfast, wait a kick-ass breakfast (over-easy egg over a slice of cheese over corned beef over hash browns), we start on the fence. So the fence is done and so is our roof. The roofing guy came by while we working on our fence. It looks like the builder wants to complete their ‘we still need to fix this’ list. One down two to go. Sat night we went and saw a performance art show called Heartbeat at the Toronto Centre For Performing Arts. It was great. I really enjoyed the dancing and music. I’m glad that we went. My poor sis found parts of it boring. I think she wasn’t thrilled with the dancing and much preferred the martial arts based dancing. Ah well can’t please anyone. So got home late Sat and headed straight to bed.
Sun came around and it was ‘clean the whole house because family is coming over later’ time. So we got started on that. For such a little house there sure seems to be a lot to clean. I even Vacuumed and dusted. These are things that I don’t like to do. It took us all morning but it got done and the house was sparkling. We weren’t even sure if the family would be coming over because of the weather. Well the weather held out and they all came over after our visit to the cemetary. We had a great time and for most it was their first visit to the house. Mochi and Winston were a hit. The kids couldn’t get over them and just tired them out by the end of the night. Hb at one point wasn’t sure if all of us would fit (16 in total, including us). Well we did and we did fairly comfortably too. They liked our home and loved our yard. I think the fence makes it feel bigger. Just one more fence to go but that’s next year. Anyway they all headed out quite early and we were able to clean up and head to bed quite early too.
This brings us to today. Can’t wait to see what today has in store for us.

The last couple of days have gone by in a blur. Mon I was exhausted and just went through the day half asleep. That goes for Tues as well but I was a little more awake this time. Though on Mon I had dinner with my family and of course Hb and I forgot that the fence posts for the back of the house were going in Tues am. So what do we do? Head home after work, get the posts and then head back into the city for dinner. Dinner was awesome and my family got to see Mochi again. My mom actually asked for Mochi. I thought that was so my mom...lol. Tues came home and the posts were up. Hung out and about with Hb and it was all good. Weds went by quickly too. Picked up the stringers and brackets for the fence. Hung out with the neighbour and they showed us how to put up stringers. Hopefully by the end of the week we'll get the rest of the fence done.
Now we're on to Thu...I've had popcorn for breakfast along with a coffee. I guess we'll see how things go for the rest of the day.

Okay so here’s an update on the weekend. Friday afternoon I picked up a mirror for a friend I was seeing this weekend. I then picked up another friend and we headed off to Collingwood for the weekend. The drive up was pretty uneventful. We went through rain and a bit of traffic but we did find our way to the chalet we were staying at. We arrived quite early only to discover that no one was there yet. So we headed off to the store to pick up extra snackies. After our trip to the store we headed back to the chalet. A few other girls had shown up and opened up the chalet. Little did I know we could’ve gotten the keys for the chalet when we first arrived. Anyway after some quick introductions a bottle of red was quickly consumed (except by me, it makes me sleepy). My friend LM and I headed out to grab some dinner before the rest of them arrived. Picked up dinner and headed back to the chalet. Another carload of women arrived and headed out to grab some dinner too. So we all slowly start pouring into the chalet. We rented out two chalets that were attached. There were about 30 of us expected (final count was 29 women and 1 dog). By 1am Sat morning the last of us arrive. We had our sleeping arrangements assigned to us earlier in the evening. We all moved in and got settled for a weekend of eating, drinking, chatting, etc. By about 2am I couldn’t stay up any longer. I headed off to bed. Low and behold at 6am my eyes open and I am wide-awake. I force myself to go back to sleep only to wake up again an hour later. I go through this a couple more times (20 min intervals instead of an hour) and I finally get up at 8. I have a quick breakfast, thankfully breakfast had already been made (at least started) and then I head down to get ready for my morning at the day spa. I wake LM (she is not a morning person) and she drags herself up. On our way to the spa we get lost but quickly find our way thanks to a local. We get to the spa with minutes to spare. LM was getting a mini-facial and a hot stone massage. Her faced looked amazing afterwards and she really enjoyed her massage. I had the mud wrap (see description in previous post) and it was heavenly. I loved it and can’t wait to have another done. The lady who took care of me was a real sweetheart. Next time I’m up that way I’m going to book an appointment with her. After the spa treatments we headed into town and had a nice lunch. I had a warm portabello mushroom salad. It was so tasty. We ran around the main street looking for a nice vase and lucky bamboo. I decided to give the spa lady a little something instead of a monetary tip. We talked a lot during my treatment and she seemed to be the type of person who would appreciate something like this, not the money isn’t appreciated but you know what I mean. Anyway I decided that I wanted to give her three stalks of lucky bamboo in a nice glass vase. 3 means happiness and that was discussed quite a bit during my appointment. I thought it would be appropriate. So after a bit of going here and there we found everything. We headed back to the spa and I dropped off the gift for her. We then headed back to the main street and went window shopping. On our way back to the chalet we stopped into an ice cream stand/shack and had some yummy frozen yoghurt. I had cantaloupe, honeydew melon and mango in a fresh waffle cone. Yum. Dinner was terrific and after clean up the fun began. We drank, we danced, we yapped, some even went for a ‘walk’ and brought back a couple stray boys. Those of us who weren’t interested in the boys hung out on the deck and just kept chatting away while keeping an eye on the wild and crazy girls and guys dancing up a storm in the eating area. This last all night (well I heard that the last guest left when the sun began to rise) whereas most of us had headed to bed by 4am. There were a few still up keeping an eye on things. LM had hooked up with one of the guys and they hung out for the rest of the night. I guess we’ll see how things go. Sun rolls around and I’m on breakfast cleaning duty. We have breakfast and clean up and get ready for our drive back. I forgot one thing, last night before the dancing and drinking we presented the wonderful person who organised this retreat with a gift. It was wonderful of her to do all this and well let’s just say she was overwhelmed with emotion. Thanks to MW for this wonderful weekend. The time comes to drive back. I drop BB off and LM and I head home. I drop her off and shortly thereafter I pull up into the driveway. Home Sweet Home. I see Hb and I’m glad that I’m home. There’s nothing like it. I bring my stuff in and flop on the couch. Hb reminds me that we have a bbq to go to and that we’re already late. I keep stalling and finally drag myself to the bbq. I had a nice time and had a small bite to eat. After the bbq we head home (thankfully it was only 3 doors away) and I spend a quiet night at home, with the puppies and my paper. Bedtime rolls around and I’m ready to go off to lalaland.
So that’s my weekend in a huge nutshell.

Thanks to some blog spam I now have to turn the word verfication on when anyone posts a comment. Ugh.
I can’t recall the rest of Weds at the moment…I remember now. Picked up the pups from the il’s and headed home. Hung out at home and chilled after doing a couple errands. Hb put up the jellyfish. It looks great! I think it’s perfect for that room. Now I just have to find some fabric for the headboard that I’d like to make for the room. Our neighbour also stopped by to talk about fencing. So we’re going to get posts put in the back line on Tue! Yay! Maybe by Thu or Fri we will have the rest of the fence up.
Thu was Thu. The day went by rather slowly at times. Went home and hung out at home. Our neighbours came by to watch Survivor! It was good but I only listened to the program. I was too busy making fudge for the weekend.
Speaking of the weekend…I’m going away for the weekend. I’ve never been to a big ladies retreat before. The best part of the whole thing is that I’m going to have my first spa treatment tomorrow morning. Here’s a description of what I’m having done…
Mud Wrap (approx 2 1/2 hrs) Dry brushing, light massage with essential oils, precedes the full body Dead Sea or Moor Mud wrap. This wrap detoxifies, rejuvenates, and acts as an anti-inflammatory. The mud is showered off, followed by a gentle moisturizing massage.
How awesome does that look?! I hope when I come home on the weekend I’ll be nice and relaxed. I know I’ll miss Hb and the pups. I hope that the pups are good for Hb. Poor guy is stuck at home with two little munchkins

I forgot to mention that on Sat I was given Fred Jr. So Fred Jr. now proudly sits on a shelf in my cubicle. I hope he does well.
So I’m feeling a little less tired today despite me yawning at the moment. The concert was fabulous and I’m glad that we had tickets. If you want to see the set list go over to NL’s site, he has it listed there as well as a couple other links about the concert.
Yesterday was pretty okay. Went to Mommy’s and picked up a few goodies. Moon cake, navel oranges and lamb curry. The oranges are yummy but I haven’t had the other treats yet. I’m hoping today that I’ll find some no yolk Moon cake. I like just plain lotus, that’s it. Yum. I wonder if it freezes well…
After Mommy’s, headed home. The boys were happy to have us home. They were even happier to see each other. Those two have so much energy. I can’t get over it. All afternoon and evening (except for a short dinner break) was spent wrestling (or whatever puppy playing is called).
Our neighbour Jeff came by and we ended up heading out for dinner at The Mandarin. Dinner was fine and definitely filling. We even came away with a little pink paper lantern. I have it hanging up here at work.
The rest of the night went by in a blur.
Who knew I could survive on four hours of sleep.
Speaking of sleep for some strange reason I woke up around 2:30 this morning and had a heck of a time falling back asleep. That alarm clock beeped too quickly. More sleep needed.
And Winston is not a good traveler.
And I have to run a couple errands today so I don’t get to go home right away.
And that sucks.

The concert was amazing. U2 rocks. I'm so damn tired right now that that is all I'm going to say for now.
Monday, September 12, 2005
Today is U2 concert day! Woohoo! Can't wait for the concert tonight. I think it'll be our last concert for a while unless someone really good comes out to play.
Now that I've gotten that off my chest I'll do my usual recap of the last few days.
Fri...it was Fri. It dragged and didn't want me to get on with the weekend. As soon as the work day was done the rest of Fri went by pretty darn quick. Had a delicious dinner at the neighbours and played Settlers. It was nice to hang out with them. We even gave them a gift for their upcoming baby. Hb and I had picked up a Baby Whoozit and a Baby Tizoo. Prior to dinner we went to look at a Softub. Hb and I have been debating on getting a hot tub of some sort for a long while (at least 6 months, Hb says a year). This idea came up again after having a visit with Hb's uncle and aunt (who have one). We went for a soak after dinner and talked about it some more. It would be really nice to have one to use at our leisure. So that was Fri.
Sat came and went. Hb and I went and had dim sum with my il's before they headed off on their trip. After lunch we dropped them off at the airport and headed over to my bf's place. We had a short visit with her and left Ginger with her. She's minding him while il's are away. Ginger wondered around for a bit and as of that night was still a bit shy but had come out for cuddles a couple times. We picked up Winston and brought him home. The boys played and played and played. We were pooped by the end of the night.
Sun was good. Hb finished the guest room and it looks fabulous. I love the colour. It is the perfect colour for that room. I cleaned the house and we had Hb's aunt and uncle over for dinner. We had a yummy dinner and had a really good visit with them. We did a few groceries and I picked up a new sweater. At the end of the night our neighbours came over for any last minute instructions on tending to the pups. They are puppy sitting for us. On top of that I cleaned the kitchen up last night and my kitchen is clean. Yay.

Had to I've got one more sleep and I get to sleep in. Not going in to work tomorrow. Just have to remember to change my v/m at work so it says I'm not in. I am going to prime tonight and start painting tomorrow. If I'm really motivated I may try to convince Hb that I can paint part of the great room over the weekend too.
