Happy Hallowe'en!


Back on to regular scheduled programming...

Thu went by without a hitch. Had dinner at the il's and watched Survivor. Mochi had a grande ole time with Winston and Ginger.

Fri went by slowly, at least it felt slow even though I know it doesn't change just because of me.

Sat headed up to LM's cottage. Had a nice time. The trees were golden and it was beautiful. Went for a nice walk through Awenda and took a few photos. It was nice. Did archery for the first time, it was fun.

Sun headed back down after I lost an arrow in the trees. Picked up Mochi from il's and headed home. Got home a lot later than I wanted so we didn't get to decorate as much as I wanted to. We'll have to finish up today and I still haven't gotten half way through the pumpkin carving yet. Grrr. I think next year I'll have devote a full day to Hallowe'en decorating. I think I have a lot to put up. So far it does look great.

Lots of candies to give out to the kiddies tonight. I hope we can find our scary music. I'm annoyed that it's gone missing.

I'm really in the Hallowe'en spirit. Went out after work yesterday to look at more stuff to decorate the house. Damn I didn't find much. I did get an extra black light bulb and some stuff for the house (not Hallowe'en themed). Other than that I struck out.

Tue went by really well. Had DnA over for dinner and TAR. It was good. I really do enjoy their company. I would like to think we've become good friends. Yesterday well you know what part of yesterday was like.

Today well we'll see what today brings. Hmmm...I don't know. Hopefully it'll be a good day.

I'm a monkey or crazy...

Yesterday afternoon my neighbour dropped me off at home from work (Hb went out). I got home and decided to mow the lawn. I have the grass clipping catcher on the lawnmower and it fills up. We normally dump the grass clippings over the fence into the field behind us. Some of you know I'm short. The fence is a six foot chain link fence. Anyway the second time I had to dump the grass I dropped the bag. I climbed the fence (with sloggers on), emptied the bag and climbed back over. All this time a neighbour is looking out their patio doors (doors are parallel to the fence line) watching me do all this. I make it back and keep mowing. Thankfully that was the last time I had to dump the grass because the last little bit I left in the bag. I left that for Hb to dump.

I can't believe I did that and didn't seriously hurt myself at the same time. I'm coming close to hitting my fourth decade you would think I'd know better.

Well let's see...it's been a few days since I posted. I don't really remember too much about Thu or Fri. I know we saw Survivor on Thu but that's all I can remember at the moment. Fri I know we inherited a gorgeous orange tree and brought it home. Now I hope that we can do it justice. Sat we drove around and realised how close we are to the nowhere. We went tree hunting (deciduous not coniferous) for our yard. We came up empty handed. We did pick up mustard beans and a yummy pie and a cup of delicious hot apple cider. I had such a great time just driving around with Hb. It really reminds me of how amazing he is. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to do it again. Sat night I went out to dinner with a bunch of friends. We had a great time eating and chatting it up.

Sun was great too. Our ASE math teacher DrsquaredOh and his wife DrsquaredOh the first came up for lunch. We had a good visit with them and got to see photos from their trip to Russia in Aug. Shortly after they left my il's came up for dinner. The boys got to play and poor Mochi was tired this morning. Dinner was yummy, Hb and mil cooked. The pie was fabu (strawberry rhubarb). Mil went for a soak in the tub while fil was enthralled with a Nature program on tv in HD no less. We also joined mil in the tub and had a nice soak.

It was an incredible weekend :)

So the last couple of days have gone by in a blur. Last night I had a great time with DnA. Dinner was awesome and it was just fun chatting it up with A. The rest of my Mon was good. Hb was a real sweetheart and helped me wind down from my work day. Yesterday was there and I was glad when the work day was over.

I wonder what today will bring.

So I'm still sick and what's worse is that I'm getting raked over the coals for it. I ended up taking last Fri off because I hadn't slept in days and the cold really took over. I figured I'd get in shit for it because I ended up taking another day off the week before last because I had stomach pains that kept me up all night. So now I'm calling my doctor this morning to try and see her so I can get a note for Fri. I'm also going to ask my team lead how she wants my desk organised. I also have to explain why I didn't get one thing done. I'm unhappy. Oh well all I can do is suck it up.

I’m sick and it sucks. I first caught it last weekend and thought that I was on the mend (after countless hours of sleeping). Boy was I wrong! It’s progressively getting worse. I now have a runny nose and am coughing through the night. I think I might have to go to the doctor really soon. Chances are I’ll ask for a prescription of Advair to help me get through the coughing. Ya, I know Advair… It’s the only thing that helps me get through my coughs. According to Hb my coughs are wicked (bad wicked not good wicked). And he’s right they are pretty awful, body wrenching really. Luckily they seem to come on a lot more at night than during the day. Then again that really isn’t lucky because the coughing keeps me up all night.

I’m getting waves right now. That’s not good. Granted these ones are stronger than the ones yesterday. If I can get through the rest of the week then I’ll be able to rest up on the weekend. Ya know one thing I don’t like is that I don’t always look sick even though I am. That is certainly a disadvantage.

So I've got a few days to catch up on...

Fri was pretty okay. I was able to leave the office early. It's a nice way to start a long weekend, the last one before Christmas. My co-worker dropped me off at home and no sooner than I had let Mochi to go potty outside did my sil and her family and my mil (in tow) pull up in the driveway. Thank goodness I got home early, even though mil has a key to the house. So our (Hb and I) plan for me to tidy up the house before they arrive went *phlaght*. They all shuffled in to our home and we all chatted and settled in. It was nice to have sil and family over. We don't get to see them very often since they are so over 500 kliks away. So mil and fil headed off after a while (fil came over to pick up mil). We had a nice supper and the kids soon decided it was time for *doh dohz* Sil and sil-hb were quite surprised that the kids went down so early (the kids are sick) . We got to chat and just hang out and do stuff. It was fun.

Sat rolls around and we have a yummy pancake breakfast. After breaky we head to the park and then to pick up some lunch to make at home. After lunch everyone is feeling the effects of the kids cold. After some discussion sil and sil-hb decide it would be best to cut their trip short and just head home. So they talk with mil and after a teary goodbye (between grandkid 1 and mil) they pack up and head off. Mil calls the relatives to cancel the big family dinner for Sun because she's also been feeling the kids cold too.

We wake up Sun morning after a nice lazy Sat afternoon. We get to work on making pumpkin pie. Hb makes the pastry while I make the filling. The pies turned out really well and are oh so very yummy. Later on we head over to the il's for an intimate turkey dinner. It was nice that it was just the four of us. I wasn't feeling well either and ended up taking a nap after dinner while they watched a 007 movie.

Got home went straight to bed. Poor Hb wasn't feeling too hot either.

Mon we bring over a piece of pie to the neighbours before we head off to a greasy spoon for breakfast. We putt around and head over to the pumpkin patch to pick up a pumpkin. We also pick up some corn stalks and some gourds for decoration too. Hb did a fab job decorating the entrance way.

This brings us to yesterday...we had DnA over and watched TAR. Had schnitzel for din-din and more pumpkin pie. It was good. Work sucked.

This amused me and I haven't quite figured out why.

We slept in this morning. Really slept in this morning. We got in an hour and a half later than we normally do. By the time three o’clock hits I’m going to be itching to get home and I can’t. Bah.

The last couple of days have been pretty okay. Had a great TAR night with DnA. Watched the first hockey game of the season last night (well most of it) and got to try the PC veggie Portobello Swiss burger. I recommend it if you need a good veggie burger. It’s different from the Yves one but just as good (as per LM).

Tonight Kef is over. Yes, WestsideKef is coming over. It’s Survivor and CSI night for us. So if Kef is reading this before he comes over…Dinner might get messy so wear something dark.

I don’t think my s/w leftover from lunch yesterday is too good or my tummy is just being sensitive this morning. My tum is a bubbling.

I'm glad that my work day was over when it was over. I would've preferred that it was over earlier. Ah well.

Okay so I guess I'll go through a quick update yet again...Hopefully it won't be too lengthy

Wed night went to a friends rehearsal dinner. Food was fantastic. Have to go back again. Came home really late.

Thu early am (I'm talking really early, 2:30 early) I woke up with sharp pains in my tummy. It kept me up til well after the sun rose (about 9). By that time it subsided enough for me to be able to sleep. As you can tell I didn't make it into work. I only managed to sleep a couple hours before I had to get up again. During my time as a night owl I read. I actually finished a nice fluffy book that a good friend lent me. The rest of Thu was spent with me complaining about how terrible I felt and how damn tired I was.

Fri was similar to Thu. I took the day off and tended to stuff I had to get done. That night Hb and I had a night on the town. I had a fabulous time. We stayed at a hotel downtown and I had my first meal at Salad King. Yum. I also got new shoes too!

Sat was our friends wedding. She looked glamourous and he looked handsome. Beautiful wedding and wonderful reception. I had a lot of fun. We also got to have a short visit with the il's. They just came home from vacation late last night.

Sun was good. Slept in. Had a visit with il's. Picked up Ginger, had a nap before then (an all morning nap). Came home, had dinner, chilled and watched tv. It was all good.

Brings us to today. I am tired. Looking forward to going home and my day has barely started.
